- Classes for BREEDING Heifers, Breeding Gilts, Doe Kids and Ewe Lambs
- There is no weight minimum or maximum for Prospect Market- Beef, Lambs and Meat Goats or Breeding Gilts, Ewe lambs and Doe kids.
- Breeding heifers must be born on or after 9/1/2021

- All exhibitors that pre- enter both days will be entered in to special prize drawings.

Rules & Guidelines
Exhibitor eligibility
- Show is open to Youth only. Out –of- state exhibitors welcome.
- All exhibitors must be members of 4-H, FFA or the national junior breed association, NJSR,TEAM Purebred governing the breed/specie they are entering.
- Youth to age 21 are eligible to show. ( if the breed association governing the breed you are exhibiting allows to age 22 you can show in that breed only.
- Exhibitors must own and exhibit their own animals, except in the case of 2 entries in the same class in such case another exhibitor may show.
- Exhibitors must be able to exhibit their own animal. 2 people may not lead/drive the animal. Parents are not allowed in showring.
- Breeding heifers, gilts and market prospect beef, swine and sheep will be shown by breed. Breed champions and reserve will be selected.
- Breeds must be declared at check-in or at entry , the exhibitor may not change breeds after the animals are checked in/weight are in . Show management reserves the right to classify breeds in prospect market classes.
- Three entries (3) are required to constitute a breed class in all Swine, Sheep and Beef. If three entries representing one breed are not received entries will be shown as AOB.
- Species superintendents may break classes by weight or age (breeding heifers) if numbers warrant multiple classes within a breed.
- There will be a class(es) for commercial breeding heifers.
- Meat Goats will be shown by weight only. Weight division champion and reserve will be selected and compete for overall top 5.
- Doe kids will be shown by weight.
- Breeding ewe lambs shown by breed- must be 3 of breed for class or show as AOB.
- All prospect market exhibitors are required to weigh their animals and turn in weights by designated times in their respective species. Please turn in weights on the Showman.app. Scales will be available on sight and open for all exhibitors.
- The show management reserves the right for weigh back. 10-pound weigh back on hogs. 5 pounds on sheep and goats. 10% on beef. There is no weight minimum or maximum for prospect market beef, meat goats and lambs; breeding ewe lambs or doe kids.
- 165-pound weight limit on prospect market hogs. No weight limit on breeding gilts.
- There will be a progress division for pigs over 165 pounds. 50% class payback. All breeds show together. Progress pigs are not eligible for top 5.
- Registered breeding heifers are required to show registration papers recorded in the name of the exhibitor at check in. The Beef Show officials reserves the right to check tattoos.
- Breeding heifers must be born on or after 9/1/2021
- ALL species- No intact males will be allowed to show.
- TOP 5 selection- only breed/division champion and reserve are eligible to show for Top 5.
- The show management reserves the right to alter or combine classes as they deem necessary. The judge’s decision is final.
- Ewes, Gilts, Doe kids and Heifers shown in prospect market classes may be exhibited in breeding classes providing proper entry and fees are paid for both divisions.
- Health papers are not required to show. Out of state exhibitors must observe inter-state health and movement requirements.
- Entries are not required to have a state or county 4-H/FFA ear tag. If you don't have your animal "tagged in" you may record another ID on your entry card (examples: farm/ranch tag #, ear notches, tattoo, scrapies tag) . If you are a member of the Cimmaron Valley Series you are required to record some sort if ID on your entry/class card if you have not yet "tagged in" in your county.
Showmanship
- Showmanship ages : Junior 9 and under / Intermediate 10-13, / Senior 14 and older.
- Must be an exhibitor in that species to show in showmanship, entry is required but no additional fee.
- All ages as of 1/1/2023
- Pee Wee Class (fun for non exhibitors only ) for under 7 years old , NO ENTRY REQUIRED , may borrow animals .

- Pre- entry is encouraged but not required. Entries are not complete until all fees are paid. Cash only on show day.

- After entries close at show weights and breeds cannot be changed.
- No refunds or credit for entry fees.
- Beef $30 per head , late entries $35 per head
- Hogs, Sheep, Goats $25 per head, late entries $30 per head
- Ewes, Gilts, Doe kids and Heifers shown in prospect market classes may be exhibited in breeding classes providing proper entry and fees are paid for both divisions.
- Special Prize Drawings for those that Pre-Enter both days
- There is plenty of parking on the fairgrounds to stall/show out of trailer
- Tie space in barn available for cattle and tie outs for cattle- first come basis.
- Pigs, Sheep and Goats be prepared to show out of trailer.
- Limited inside/near showring individual pens for pigs available during pig show.
- Wash racks are available .
- Horse Stalls are available to stall cattle, sheep and goats - a charge of $25 per stall per night for use of horse stalls.
Prize drawings for all exhibitors - drawings will be during free BBQ Saturday evening. Must be present to win.
